I put on my headphones
And tossed a lighted match into the night.
The sleeping family never stirred
As the fire grew bright.
I walked into the streets
With a bloodied axe in my hand
And listened to a man’s scream;
A song that only i would understand.
I saw a girl ran
Only to be crushed underneath a burning tree
Her loud prayers cut off
By my maddening symphony.
At last, I looked down at my town
And at the tree which my family hung
I took a bow
For the song no one knew i sung.
